It’s creamy, easy to make, and it will save you money

I am vegan. I have been on a dairy-free diet for almost five years. It’s helped me maintain a healthy lifestyle, which has spilled over and improved other parts of my life. However, there can be a downside. Being vegan can make a huge dent in your pocket if you rely solely on store bought products.

I used to spend £1 for 2.272 litres of dairy milk, but when I switched to dairy-free alternatives my expenditure tripled. I was now spending £1.50 for just one litre of dairy-free milk.

Fortunately I learnt that it was possible to make vegan alternatives…

And how you can also cultivate them

Success leaves clues. The late Dr Myles Munroe once said:

“People generally fall into one of three groups:

The few who make things happen.

The many who watch things happen

The overwhelming majority who have no notion of what happens.

Every person is either a creator of fact or a creature of circumstance. He either puts color into his environment, or, like a chameleon, takes color from his environment.”

Successful people share the following traits:

1. They Are Confident

Confidence comes from believing in yourself. Successful people believe in their abilities, or skills to accomplish their goals. Their confidence grows through taking action. They…

Save me today and I will save you tomorrow

I was out with some acquiantances one day when I realised I needed loose change. I asked each in turn if they had any. None of them did. They only used cards so didn’t have cash. The response from one individual struck me.

All my money folds.

From there on the conversation took a different turn. We talked about money and the perceived challenges of saving it.

Saving money doesn’t need to be complicated. You don’t have to be earning a lot of money to save it either.

Here are five very simple things you can do from today to…

Writing is only part of the equation

Producing quality work is very important to success. Unfortunately quality work will get you nowhere if nobody gets to see your work. Visibility plays a huge role in your success as a writer.

Someone once said that writers should spend 20% of their time writing and 80% promoting their work. It’s the need for visibility which has resulted in the creation of Facebook groups where writers can do so. If you’re not actively promoting your work, it’s time to start.

Apart from Facebook there are many other platforms where writers can promote their work. The ones I use are:

Here’s why

I love fluffy, melt-in-the mouth cupcakes. It doesn’t take a lot to make them either. A few basic ingredients (flour, sugar, butter, eggs, milk, vanilla extract), mixed together in the right proportions, all baked at the correct temperature, can turn into a lot of satisfied ooh’s and aah’s. That’s what life is like sometimes.

When I read about Jon Morrow’s story it confirmed my thoughts on this. Jon was born with muscular dystrophy. The only things he can move are his mouth and eyes. Despite overwhelming odds, he worked hard to change his life for better. He had fewer things…

I wasn’t afraid

Today I met fear face to face.

Well, it was actually Facebook to Facebook.

Her name was Ms Fear.

She saw my book about fear.

I titled it Fearless because

We all want less fear in our lives, right?

No one wants more of fear

Unless it’s a different kind of fear.

Great to meet you hear, she wrote.

Was that a typo? I wondered.

Or, was she feeling poetic,

Wanting her words to rhyme?

I see you’ve got a book call Fearless, she replied.

I love it! She praised.

My programme is called —

Fearful to Fearless, she said.

I will not be going back to my old ways

You can save a tonne of money when you have the right mindset, tools, and strategies. The easiest of these is to earn a lot of money, spend less than you make, then save the rest.

But what if you don’t earn a lot of money, or worse still, have no stable income to speak of? How do you go about saving?

The shortages we experienced during the panic-buying of the first lockdown made me realise that you can make the little you have go a long way. Once you get over that first hump, you’re on your way.

If you want motivation and staying power, try these simple tips

If you’re anything like me, you may find that there are days when your motivation tank runs dry. No amount of cranking the engine will get it going. The reason is simple really. You can’t run on empty.

I think I have hacked the trick for making sure my motivation tank stays full. Here are my top tips.

1. Don’t Wait Until You’re Running on Low

If you wait until you’re running on low, your motivation engine will cease. It doesn’t care if you’re on the metaphorical highway of productivity, cruising at 120 miles an hour. When there’s no fuel, you will crash. You not only endanger yourself…

They have taught me important lessons and helped me make better life decisions

Money is as different from love as oil is from water. They don’t mix well together but they have a lot more things in common than we can imagine.

Recognising the common characteristics between money, which is tangible and love, which is intangible, has helped me make better decisions. Both of them usually to invoke similar emotions.

Let’s get right to it.

1. It’s Either Easy to Get, or It’s Hard

Some people grow up surrounded by money. They own and can buy whatever they desire, with hardly a care in the world.

The less fortunate strive to put bread on the table. …

Gratitude can create new opportunities for you

I’m done with complaining. It can destroy your life. The more you complain, the more you find things to complain about. When you entertain people who complain you start to attract the very things you don’t want in your life.

These are four ways gratitude will elevate your life.

1. New Opportunities

Gratitude can create new opportunities for you. When you thank people for doing something for you, or giving you a gift, they are more likely to want to do it again. People love being appreciated. They like it when someone recognises the effort they put into doing something…
